EV Training on the South Coast

Public news

Demand for qualified EV technicians is expected to skyrocket. The MTA is seeing more and more workshops preparing to work on the next generation of hybrid electric and battery electric vehicles (HEV/BEV).

Hiran Alwis, our Light Vehicle Trainer Assessor, recently conducted the MTA's introductory HEV/BEV course with two groups from the following organisations on the South Coast:

  • Redarc Electronics
  • Woodcroft Car Care and Zoot Scooters
  • Stanvac Korean Autoparts
  • Seaford Crash Repairs

Attendees were equipped with the skills to depower and reinitialise HEV and BEV systems. This included a working competency of safe work practices, vehicle specific requirements, policies, procedures and more.

Hiran’s knowledge, expertise and group interaction resulted in an informative, engaging and in-depth introductory course.

The MTA extends our gratitude to valued member, Paul Keane from Woodcroft Car Care, for hosting the venue for both groups in September and October.

Ensure you are ahead of the curve and equipped with practical learning by registering for our final ‘Depower and reinitialise HEV and BEV systems’ course of the year on the 5th of November.
